In "Skade", you take on the role of Skade, a Jotunn woman, with a soul burdened by loss seeking justice upon the gods who murdered her father.
“Skade” is an interactive, narrative tale of loss, grief, revenge, and forgiveness, set in the universe of Norse Mythology.
"Skade" is a single player 2.5D sidescroller narrative-driven adventure game with a deep narrative storyline. Meant to be an immersive story mainly, “Skade” bolsters simple gameplay mechanics, with rich dialogue and breathtaking, paint-style visuals.
Sadly, the project got caught up in bureaucracy and scope creep, but the dream still lives on.
As a solo developer under the name "Nachtfrost Studios" I handled all aspects of development, to the breathtaking soundtrack of Helisirs music

Concept art for Skade
The idea was to make her easy to scale down and still be recognizable. The design is adorned with a few authentic details such as the furcoat, the belt buckle and the greaves.

According to Norse mythology, she was neither redheaded or had antlers, but I wanted her to stand out in scenes and accentuate the "wildness" of the Jotunns. The makeup was meant to represent her loss.

The Main Track for the game performed and written by Helisir.
Her music created the framework for the entire project.
